Nature Preserved, Art Reimagined – we transformed The Lecture Room & Library restaurant for sketch in Bloom 2024 in celebration of 200 years of the National Gallery. Inspired by ancient stone circles, we created a portal into the lost world of Alfred Sisley, ‘the forgotten impressionist’ in the centre of the room. Delicate pressed flowers and foliage create a dreamlike journey through time, blending nature’s fleeting beauty with artistic permanence in a captivating, multi-sensory experience.
Our Process
Behind the Scenes
Reimagining Sisley’s painting, ‘The Small Meadows in Spring’ which hangs in the National Gallery, we preserved delicate pressed flowers and foliage in resin panels. All of the pressed stems were repurposed from other projects and events, making the installation all the more special.
